This year I tried to privilege speakers I didn't listen last year since I noticed there were around the same faces and some of them also attended as a speaker some other events in Italy like the agile day in Genoa and codemotion in Rome.
As it always happens to me when I go to this tech conferences I planed to attend some speeches I was pretty sure to be interested in and some "I don't know where to go" speech.
Eventually, it came up that I loved more talks in the ''I don't know where to go'' list.
- Cowboy programming: the art of copy and paste: now I can give a name to the way we are working ;-) Cowboy programming. I'm totally aligned to the approach Davide introduced: whether you are short in time and you have a leak of technical skills why you choose heavy framework and you try to shoot a mosquito with a big gun? Be smarter, instead !!!!
- Node.js: convincing your boss. I also reviewed some lessons on apache .... Node is something I have to stay tuned.
- Augmented reality and network geo-localized. Great business model: forsquere and "mobile games" to discover something very interesting in regards of a city.
Best lesson learned:
do not criticize. ASK (Alex Martelli)
One note: it was nice to notice in Florence it was common to listen to more people speaking American than Italian.
